"I wound up in Camp Malakole 0n thanksgiving Day, 1944- outfit was the 793rd AAA Bn = 40 MM BOFORS Gun crew #3 B Battery. We stayed there about a month, and were assigned gun positions in and around Hickam Field. My position was right on the boundary of Hickam and Naval Housing - off post, but our position was fenced in a long a small ditch that was the border of the two facilities" (Submitted Aug. 23, 2009)
